REVAMP Quality Mark

We knew we would like a quality mark to reflect our organisation's serious commitment to our volunteers; but after some lengthy research of the possible options, we discovered that many of them are really expensive for small or medium organisations who are already running on tight budgets.  But then earlier this year, I attended a workshop on the quality mark 'REVAMP' (offered by KentCAN) which looked promising as a more affordable solution for smaller organisations.  In their own words:

"REVAMP (Recognition of Excellent Volunteer & Management Practice) is a simple process that was designed by volunteer centres across Kent.  Applying for this quality mark offers organisations a great opportunity to reflect on their volunteering policies and practices, and ensure they are working well for volunteers as well as the organisation.  Successful award of the REVAMP quality mark shows that your organisation offers meaningful and well-supported opportunities to potential volunteers."

 So MVA decided to submit an application for REVAMP's first quarter panel review.  The application process was fairly rigorous, and we were required to submit evidence for a range of areas such as our Equal Opportunities Policy, a Volunteer Statement, our Health & Safety Policy, our Induction Process, and Confidentiality Policy (to name a few!).  There was a charge of £100 payable at the point that we submitted our application.

After the panel review, we then received a detailed 'Assessors Verification and Feedback' form from the REVAMP team. This gave us useful feedback on each aspect of our application along with praise for where we are doing particularly well.  The feedback was clear and concise, enabling us to fulfill all of the conditions required for the award.

I'm delighted to say that MVA were successfully accredited with the REVAMP Award on 15th June; and this is valid for 2 years at which point we will need to reapply for this quality recognition.  For MVA, this means that we are able to demonstrate our commitment to our volunteers and we will be proudly showing our new REVAMP logo on all of our communications.  We will shortly be formally presented with our Quality Mark and plan to invite our whole volunteering team (some of whom are pictured left) to this event,
