DM Thomas Foundation – Central Grants for Young People

18-Sep-2017

The DM Thomas Foundation is currently receiving applications for its Central Grants programme, helping to deliver projects that improve access to opportunities and improve well-being.

The DM Thomas Foundation for Young People work to help disadvantaged and vulnerable young people and children.

The main activity of the organisation is to make a difference through specifically designated grant support; this helps local and regional community groups and charities across Europe to provide projects that improve access to opportunities and improve well-being.

Across their grant making processes, the Foundation are especially interested in funding projects which:

  • Provide and facilitate access to education;
  • Provide tools and opportunities through equipment, facilities and training; and
  • Relieve suffering; improve treatment, care and wellbeing.

The Foundation are especially interested to hear from applications working in the areas of education or health in one of the four following:

  • Children and young people with disabilities
  • Children and young people who are sick in hospital
  • Children and young people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness
  • Children and young people who are life limited (requiring palliative care)

Grant applications for up to £10,000 can be approved by the Committee, and applications for more than £10,000 are recommended to the Trustees for final approval.

The Foundation is a small charity; so although they would not normally make awards of over £30,000 per year, the Foundation say funding can be requested for up to 2 years for a particular project.

For this season the deadline for applications is the 10th October 2016.

For more details and how to apply, visit the DM Thomas website.
