Final Call for Applications from £80m Life Chances Fund

15-Aug-2017

The Government has recently announced its last Call for applications for its Life Chances Fund, to help those people in society facing major barriers to leading happy and productive lives.

The Department for Culture, Media and Sports (DCMS) is seeking applications from local commissioners, service providers and intermediaries who seek to develop Social Impact Bonds to tackle different social problems that affect community and local society.

Formed as part of the former Prime Minister’s life chances approach; the £80 million fund has been dedicated by central government to provide contributions to outcome payments for payment-by-results arrangements, which involve investors who seek to consider both financial return and social good to bring about change to benefit community.

Launched in July 2016, The Life Chances Fund (LCF) is designed to support local public sector organisations to commission social impact bonds and other payment-by-results contracts involving "socially-minded investors"; the overall objective of the fund is to help those people in society who face the most significant barriers to leading happy and productive lives.

DCMS advise that Expressions of Interest must be submitted by midday on 15th September 2017.

For more information and how to apply, visit the Government website. For further enquiries, or if you would like to discuss further questions with the LCF team, you can also send an email to lifechancesfund@biglotteryfund.org.uk.
