Applications are currently being taken by The Drapers’ Charitable Fund from local charities and similar organisations working to better the lives of disadvantaged and socially excluded.
The Drapers’ Charitable Fund awards grants to help improve the quality of life for people and their communities. They target the disadvantaged and socially excluded, through grants in the fields of education and young people, and social welfare. Grants are also awarded in support of textiles and heritage.
Grants of up to £15,000 are available to charities and similar organisations working to better the lives of disadvantaged and socially excluded groups or individuals.
Funding is normally intended to cover the following areas:
- Social Welfare – including homelessness, prisoners, ex-service personnel, support for the elderly, carers, community and family services, disabled adults;
- Education and Training – projects which raise the aspirations or help to realise the full potential of disadvantaged young people under 25 years old;
- Textiles and Heritage – including textile conservation, projects within the textile industry, museums, memorials and monuments relating to the armed forces, history of London or the textile trade.
The deadline for applications is 11th September 2018, with further dates to be announced later in the season.
