How They Would Support You –Supporting You to Help Others Grant from Macmillan

21-Jul-2017

Cancer charity Macmillan is still taking applications for their programme which gives people affected by cancer the chance to help support others as well as themselves.

Macmillan Cancer Support work to support people who have been diagnosed with cancer and help them take back some control in their life. From help with money worries and advice about work, to someone who would just listen; Macmillan says the work they have done so far shows they know how a cancer diagnosis can affect everything.

The Supporting You to Help Others Grants programme aims to provide people affected by cancer with opportunities to use their experiences to support others, while also receiving support themselves.

Macmillan are offering grants of up to £3,000 to help give people affected by cancer the opportunity to use their experiences to support others, while also receiving support themselves.

The grants offered are:

  • Start-up grants of up to £500 to support the start-up of a new self help and support project for people affected by cancer
  • Development grants of up to £3,000 to improve the sustainability or increase the reach of existing self help and support groups or projects that have been established for 12 months or more

The grants programme is especially interested in hearing from applicants that would look to achieve the charity’s Inclusion vision of a health and social care system, where there is equal access to, and delivery of, the best cancer services are available to everyone living with and beyond cancer.

The deadline for applications this season is 4th August 2017, with further dates to be announced later.
