KCF Make Recent Announcement for Grants Applications15-Feb-2019
Kent Community Foundation (KCF), part of the network of Community Foundations working to improving the lives of local people and communities, has recently announced some changes to their grant making process.
The Foundation announced recently they believe only a quarter of voluntary groups in Kent and Medway know about them and their work.
Whilst KCF is constantly working to increase their impact and make their grants go further and encourage more strategic and mindful fund-raising, they also want to reach those who need their help but haven’t yet applied; and so would be looking to put more effort and resource into this.
The Proposed Changes
In the interest that grant applicants choose their strongest and most urgent projects, The Foundation has introduced a golden rule: one application per quarter.
The Foundation has two funding categories; they have four themed funds including Children, Young People and Families, Elderly and Isolated, Vulnerable Adults and Employability, Skills and Enterprise; they also have all other funds outside of themed funding.
The Foundation advises themed funds can be applied for every six months and all other funds can be applied for as and when they become available.
The KCF are encouraging grant applicants to remember the golden rule: one application per quarter overall.
For those organisations that regularly receive significant support from the Foundation, KCF advise they will be in contact with those groups about easing them into this change.
Bruce Topham from KCF gave a talk on these rules at a recent Funding & Marketing Club drop-in session, which delegates found really useful in planning their funding strategy for 2019 – to find out more about the club and about how you can join, click here
