Main Grants Programme from Henry Smith Charity11-Oct-2017
The Henry Smith Charity continues its call for applications for its grants programme to help enterprises and ventures that tackle social inequality and economic disadvantage.
The Henry Smith Charity has been working to help combat disadvantage and poverty for nearly four centuries after it was first established: It is one of the largest grant making charities in Britain.
The Charity make grants totalling approximately £25 million each year for up to 1,000 organisations and charities throughout the UK for enterprises and ventures that address social inequality and economic disadvantage.
Their Capital and revenue grants of up to £10,000 are available ideally for use towards running costs, salaries, project costs, or one-off capital expenditure such as building refurbishment or equipment.
The Charity asks that applicants must be a not-for-profit organisation or UK registered charity with an annual income of under £250,000; although exceptions may be made for those whose activities are county-wide and whose annual income is under £1 million.
The Henry Smith Charity is especially interested in hearing from projects that work with groups experiencing social or economic disadvantage (such as people with disabilities) and projects whose work tackles problems in areas of high deprivation.
Because the scheme can be seen as a continuous rolling programme, there is no deadline and so applications can be accepted at any time.
