Reproductive Health Training Programme from METRO

METRO Charity has recently announced the next round of CRAASH training for practitioners working with young people across Medway.
METRO Charity provides health, community and youth services across London and the South East. They work to promote health and wellbeing through their transformative services to anyone experiencing issues relating to gender, sexuality, diversity or identity.
METRO’s Contraception, Reproductive Advice and Sexual Health (CRAASH) Training Programme is being relaunched this coming season, with relevant subject areas designed to help practitioners who work with young people.
With all sessions being hosted at the Parkwood Health Centre ME8 9PR, the subject areas are divided into 4 modules, each working on a specific area:
Module 1: Safeguarding - Wednesday 15th November 2017, 10.00-16.30
- Sexual Offences Act 2003
- Sexting
- Fraser Guidelines
- Consent
- CSE (Kent Police)
- FGM
- Medway Services
- Case Review
Module 2: Inclusivity and Quality Services - Wednesday 28th February 2018, 10.00-16.30
- Sexuality & Gender
- Your Welcome
- Motivational Interviewing
- Assessment of topics in Module 1
Module 3: Sexual Health and Risk Taking Behaviour - Wednesday 6th June 2018, 10.00-16.30
- Sexual Health STI’s and Condom use
- Contraception and termination of pregnancy
- Chemsex
- Drugs and Alcohol (Open Road)
- Assessment of topics in Module 2
Module 4: Half Day, hosted by METRO - Wednesday 26th September 2018, 10.00-14.30
- Sessions for young people
- Assessment of topics in Module 3
By the end of the session, practitioners will have a resource which is specifically designed and can then be taken and run with young people.
METRO advises these training modules are FREE; and it is anticipated that practitioners will attend each module as there is an assessment for each.
