The Ultimate Team Challenge - KM Charity Dragon Boat Race 201730-May-2017
The race is on to secure a place as teams enter for the 2017 KM Dragon Boat Race and raise funds for their chosen charity.
Allowing up to 17 rowers per team, crews of 11 can compete, with one of the crew beating a drum to dictate the pace of the paddles, as they take part in a minimum of three races, with the fastest teams competing in the finals at the end of the day.
The annual Dragon Boat Challenge is being organised by the KM Charity Team to help charitable groups with their fundraising, and raises money for the KM Group’s local charities of the year; allowing school PTA groups, sports clubs, charities and businesses raise funds for the cause of their choice.
This year the event is being held at Mote Park in Maidstone on Sunday 2nd July.
KM Charity say it is a challenge for those who wish to take part in and enjoy the ancient traditions of the dragon boat; as well as a test of strength and rowing techniques by travelling across the 250m course in the fastest time.
It is also a day for spectators as well as for people taking part, as they can visit stalls, purchase food and drink, or hire rowing boats or pedal boats at Mote Park Watersports Centre, who are hosting the event.
KM Charity advise the Dragon Boat Race is part of the many adrenaline events staged throughout the year by the KM Charity Team, which includes the KM Colour Run and the KM Charity Walk this coming June, and KM Assault Course Challenge in October.
