Workplace Wellbeing - World Mental Health Day Event by MEGAN, October 2017

04-Oct-2017

MEGAN CIC will be hosting an event in celebration of World Mental Health Day at the St George Hotel, Chatham this October.

It is said that one in four adults and one in ten children are likely to have a mental health problem in any given year.

This can have a direct effect on the lives of tens of millions of people in the UK; having an impact on their ability to sustain relationships, work: even getting through the day.

What does not help is having an ill-informed attitude around mental health. This can make it difficult for some to seek help, and can leave the majority of people grappling with mental health issues on their own, seeking help or information; and dependent on the support of family, friends or colleagues.

If we confront this stigma through facts; facts that help us understand patterns of mental health problems, their causes and solutions; this can help break down barriers in seeking help and support.

Mental health problems can affect anyone, any day of the year; but 10 October would be a great day to show your support for better mental health and start looking after your own wellbeing.

MEGAN CIC will be holding an event in celebration of World Mental Health Day on 10th October 2017 from 9.45am-3pm at the St George Hotel, Chatham, with this year's theme being Workplace Wellbeing. Lunch will be provided with opportunities for networking:

At the time of writing, and endorsed by Time to Change, MEGAN also announced they will be making the following Pledge which will be signed during the event:

"MEGAN CIC is Pledging to Challenge Stigma and Discrimination Surrounding Mental Health as part of Time to Change."
