Home Visiting Volunteer

A volunteer will be matched to a family and then visit the family for 2-3 hours once a week to offer: Friendly support through difficult times, the understanding that when bringing up children problems are not unusual, a listening ear and a shoulder to cry on, an extra pair of hands to cope with every day tasks and practical help with play activities.

Children's Bereavement Support Volunteer

Hours: 8.30-4.30 (Saturday and Sunday) 12weekends a year maximum. We would expect you to commit to at least 3 weekends a year. This role is working alongside a child/young person on one of our bereavement support weekends. Ideally you will have experience in working with children and have the ability to communicate effectively at all levels. Lunch, uniform, mileage expenses and free training.

Caseworker Volunteer - Medway Towns Area

The RAF Association is a member-led, welfare charity that exists to ensure that all members of the RAF family are supported, when they require it. A Caseworker is someone who carries out welfare work for the RAF Association. Welfare work is about making a visit and listening to an individual to assess their needs to find out how the Association can provide help and support to them.

Kitchen Assistant in our Day Centre

Our Day Centres provide fresh home-cooked meals everyday to those who attend our services and are now expanding this service to people out in the community, many of them rarely have a cooked meal. If you have an interest in catering and would like to support this service or are looking to get back into this role after a gap in your employment please contact us.

Volunteer Sessional Instructor

We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers looking to give up some time to help change the lives of young people aged 10-18 years old. There is no need to have any military experience just a passion for helping young people. The role will be training our young people in line with our core training programme. All training is delivered in house for our new volunteers and is all free

Help us at Rede Common

Rede Common Nature Reserve is an area of open grasslands surrounded by scrub and trees. Each work day we participate in different activities from cutting down dead trees and planting wild flowers to sweeping leaves from pathways and picking up litter. Pop along and make some new friends!

BELIVE trustee volunteer

BELIVE is an independent befriending service for local people with a mild-moderate learning disability; as a trustee you will be working as part of a team to shape BELIVE's future. You will be required to attend trustee meetings as/when required, training as/when required. Opportunity to undertake trustee tasks i.e. fund raising, minute taking, contribute at meetings and network with others. BELIVE befriending volunteer

To provide a person-centred befriending service for local people with a learning disability in Medway. To promote a sense of belonging, improve self-esteem, confidence, identity, wellbeing, and for the relief of isolation, poor mental health and, loneliness. You may be asked to befriend a person face to face or, talk to them over the telephone, depending on the person’s needs. For more details, please call Theresa Hammond on 07977696658.

Giving Tuesday garden clean up

This year as part of Giving Tuesday, we are asking for your help to make our wonderful Youth Hostel in Medway a little more cheery for the winter months. You can help us achieve this in one of two ways:- you can either book to physically volunteer you help and come along and join us on the 27th November from 9.30am and pick up a pitchfork or pair of secateurs and help us tidy up our outside space
