Companionship & Practical Support Volunteer

Regular visits to a person or couple at their home to offer companionship and a friendly, listening ear at a difficult time; supporting unpaid carers who are caring for a loved one who has cancer or comparable health challenges.

The visits may include light housework, gardening, shopping on their behalf, accompanying them on a walk or external trips, wellbeing activities such as boards games / puzzles and practical help with phone calls / form filling – all dependent on the Volunteers availability and personal wishes.

Opportunities are also available to provide transport weekly to a person or couple from their home to a varied selection of locations and appointments including but not limited to chemotherapy sessions, Supermarkets for shopping, scheduled Hospital appointments and sites of personal meaning for the client - all dependent on the Volunteers availability and personal wishes.

For more information please contact Simon Rice by email (preferred) at enquiries@crossroadskent.org or by phone on 03450 956 701 (Option 3).
