Cookery Class Volunteer

Medway Adult Education are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic volunteer(s) to help provide support to learners in our cookery classes. The classes are for learners with additional/support needs which can range from learning to physical disability.
During the class learners are taught to prepare and cook simple meals directed by a tutor and supported by a learning support assistant. They are also required to complete some written work.
This position is ideal from someone who either has a background in catering, social care or teaching, or someone considering becoming a teaching assistant in the future. Due to the layout of the venue and pace of the class this would be more suited to someone who is active, physically fit and confident to be hands on where needed. Good communication skills are essential.
There are two classes per week during term time that run am/pm on a Tuesday in Gillingham.
All posts are subject to a DBS check (provided)
We are also looking for volunteers in other subject areas at our Rochester Centre.
Please contact Dan Mace on dan.mace@medway.gov.uk or 01634 338475 for more information.
