An Opportunity to Have Your Say on Upcoming Commissioning

Over recent months, The NHS has been engaging with NHS organisations, clinicians, local authorities and system partners as the commissioning intentions have been developed. They are now entering a wider phase of engagement and would greatly value feedback from VCSEF organisations and communities.

Jack Packman, the new CEO at MVA is keen to support the sector having it's say and is asking all relevant stakeholders to review the commissioning intentions - accessible below - and share any comments, observations or suggestions by the 26th of August 2026.

Jack has committed to reviewing all of the feedback received before the final document, to go to the ICB, is presented for approval, which has a submission deadline of the 28th of August.

Please send your response to jack@mva.org.uk, either as a collective response on behalf of your organisation or community, or as separate responses to each of the questions below.

These will then be collated to help ensure the VCSEF sector's views across Kent and Medway are reflected.

Below you can access the two documents that sets out the ICB commissioning intentions and the four pillars of care.

In particular, the NHS would welcome your views on:

• Do these commissioning intentions reflect the health and wellbeing issues that matter most to the communities you work with?
• Are there specific groups or communities whose needs are not sufficiently reflected in the proposals?
• Will these priorities help reduce health inequalities and improve outcomes for people facing the greatest challenges?
• Are we making the right shift towards prevention, neighbourhood health and care closer to home?
• What opportunities do you see for the NHS and VCSE sector to work more closely together to improve outcomes for local people?
• What barriers might prevent these ambitions from being delivered successfully?
• If you were in our position, what is the one thing you would strengthen, change or do differently before these commissioning intentions are finalised?
