Cost of Living Crisis News Round-up - Other Sources of Grant Funding part 1, October 2022

Here is another collection of funding announcements and resources aimed at helping charities continue their work to help others during the country’s Cost of living Crisis.

Whilst every effort has been made to provide up-to-date information, due to the varying nature and progress of public policies and other related activity, MVA do advise that some of the details below may have changed since the time of its issue and ask that readers please check with each organisation’s website for the latest news.

UK Government - Help for Households
The UK Government have recently set out plans to help households and businesses with rising energy costs.

Following the announcement made by the new Prime Minister in early September 2022 on the energy policy debate, a series of webpages have been launched listing help for households.

This resource includes information about The site also provides more information about the Energy Price Guarantee that was also recently announced, aimed at providing long-term support for people and businesses with their energy bills.

Turn2us - Support with the Cost of Living
National organisation Turn2us recently launched a portal offering cost-of-living help for individuals and families.

Even with the extra support being offered from local and national authorities, Turn2us still recognise a lot of households may still struggle with bills over the coming year.

The portal gives details about various types of help that may be available to individuals and households through benefits, grants, and other sources of support.

The portal also has guidance on how individuals can maximise or make the most of their income, as well as managing their budget during uncertain times.

The website also has Grants Search - a FREE TO USE database which also contains details of over 3,000 charitable funds that give grants and other support to individuals who may either:
  • Be in financial need and have welfare needs, or
  • Require help with the costs associated with education and training courses

Working to provide resources to support the charity sector achieve and succeed, The Charity Excellence Framework CIO (CEF) offer a growing list of further support for Small Businesses and Enterprise, Community Groups, Charities, and similar organisations nationwide.
