New 'Creativity for Brain Health' Sahara's New Dementia Arts Project
Sahara is excited to launch Creativity for Brain Health, a new project in partnership with Bright Shadow, a dementia arts charity, and funded by Creative Medway’s Evolve programme. This initiative will deliver visual arts sessions throughout June and July, designed specifically for older South Asian people living with dementia or experiencing low mood.
Dementia disproportionately affects people from Black and South Asian backgrounds, who are up to four times more likely to develop the condition, and often receive much later diagnoses.
Creativity for Brain Health aims to reduce stigma, create a safe and welcoming space, and highlight the impact of creative health on mood and well-being
We're looking for individuals who could benefit from this project. If you work with or know older South Asian people living with dementia, memory problems or low mood, we would love your help in reaching them. Together, we can offer a space for creativity, connection, and joy!
