National organisation NCVO is offering FREE access to advertise trustee vacancies with recruitment specialists Trustees Unlimited.
A Trustee has an important role within a charity as they are responsible for making sure that their organisation runs effectively to deliver their charitable purposes for public benefit.
As a voluntary role within a charity, at least 3 unrelated trustees are required to register with the Charity Commission.
A governing group like a charity’s Board of Trustees should make sure it has enough representatives, and they can do this by having a clear plan for recruitment.
To help with this, it’s normally good practice to review the board each year and consider:
- Does that charity have enough trustees with the right knowledge, experience, and skills
- Do the trustees need training or support to do their jobs effectively
- Has the charity reflected on their board culture and engaged in inclusive practices, and
- Does the charity need new trustees and where can they find them?
If a charity decides they need new trustees, they should take time and care with their recruitment process.
As one of the UK's leading trustee and board recruitment agencies,
Trustee Unlimited say they specialise in offering solutions to help charities recruit high quality trustees and non- execs in a faithful, reliable and cost-effective way.
