Funding News Round-up – BBC Children in Need, March 2023

As reported previously, in the run up to new announcements based on BBC Children in Need’s new Funding Strategy, MVA offer a selection of recent news and funding articles from this charity.

Due to the varying nature and progress of public policies and other related activity, MVA do advise that some of the information below may have changed since the time of its issue, and whilst every effort has been made to provide up-to-date details, they ask that readers please check with each organisation’s website for the latest news.

Core Costs Grants
Grants are being offered by Children in Need to cover core costs over three years.

These grants are available for not-for-profit organisations that are working with disadvantaged children and young people aged up to 18 years and living in the UK.

The charity say Core Costs support essential organisation and administrative spending, which can include the key expenses required to keep an organisation running for its day-to-day operations.

Children in Need advises that this scheme is a Continuous Rolling Programme; there is no deadline and so applications can be accepted at any time.

More information and how to apply can be found at the Children in Need website.

Project Cost Grants
Grants are being offered by Children in Need to cover project costs over three years.

These grants are available for not-for-profit organisations that are working with disadvantaged children and young people aged up to 18 years and living in the UK.

The charity say Project Costs support the aims and delivery of a specific piece of work, which would usually be specified as a time-limited enterprise or venture and based on a defined set of activities.

Children in Need advises that this funding scheme is a Continuous Rolling Programme, so there is no deadline and applications can be accepted at any time.

More information and how to apply can be found at the Children in Need website.

Emergency Essentials Programme
BBC Children in Need continues its available support for children and young people who are facing exceptionally difficult circumstances.

Delivered by Family Fund Business Services (FFBS), the Children in Need Emergency Essentials Programme provides grant items that meet children and young peoples’ most basic needs or are critical to their wellbeing.

FFBS advises that applications must be completed by a registered referrer, who is part of an organisation that is supporting the family or young person and capable of assessing their needs.

At the time of writing, the scheme can be seen as a Continuous Rolling Programme, meaning there is no deadline and applications can be accepted at any time.

More information can be found at the FFBS website.
