Respite Assistance from Clevedon Forbes Fund
A Funding Programme from The Clevedon Forbes Fund provides grants for holidays and convalescent breaks to people of limited means who are recovering from trauma or illness.

The Clevedon Forbes Fund is a Christian charity which makes grants for UK residents of limited means who need a restorative break following illness or trauma.

Grants to assist with a break are also available to individuals caring for people with health problems or a disability, as the Fund will also assist with breaks for carers.

To qualify, the Funder advise that applications should be made through from professionals in the statutory or voluntary care sector on behalf of service users known to them.

Based in Bristol, the Funder does say their grants are mainly awarded to individuals living in the South-West: But people living further afield will be considered.

At the time of writing, whilst there is no recognised deadline, the Funder does state that "..The Trustees meet regularly to consider applications, so once all the required information has been given, if the application meets (their) criteria and there are sufficient funds available, a decision should be made, usually within a fortnight.."

For more information and how to apply, visit the Clevedon Forbes website.

Local grant giver and community support organisation Kent Community Foundation (KCF) also has services that can offer support to individuals and families in need. To find out more, you can contact KCF on 01303 814 500.
