Relaunching in Early 2026 - Blood and Transplant Community Grants Programme from NHS

The NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT) continue their commitment to build support for donations amongst Black, Asian, mixed heritage and minority ethnic communities.

Their Community Grants Programme is a scheme that funds community-based, faith-based and similar organisations to raise awareness and behaviour change for blood and organ donation within Black, Asian, mixed heritage, and minority ethnic (BAME) communities.

The programme aims to address health inequalities and build trust by empowering grassroots organisations to educate and recruit more donors, as ethnically matched blood and organs provide the best treatment, particularly for conditions like sickle cell and for transplant patients from these communities.

At the time of writing, the application window for the latest funding has closed, but the next round is due for relaunch in 2026.

More information and how to apply can be found on the NHSBT website. For further enquiries, you can also email the funding organisers at community.funding@nhsbt.nhs.uk.
