Skipton Building Society Charitable Foundation: Relaunching in 2025

The Skipton Building Society Charitable Foundation was established over 20 years ago by Skipton Building Society.

Their funding is intended for UK registered charities based and working in the UK whose purpose is to:
  • Benefit children and adults particularly those living in socially deprived areas, through education to develop core skills and support wellbeing and mental health.
  • Benefit the wellbeing and welfare of children and adults by preventing or reducing poverty and homelessness in the community.
  • Support the elderly and improve their wellbeing by reducing isolation, helping reduce the effects of Dementia and Alzheimer's and support later life/palliative care.
The Foundation say they prefer to give smaller amounts with the aim of supporting as many good causes as possible throughout the UK, although they will consider larger-sized grants where possible.

With applications considered quarterly, the funders advise their grants should be used for items or activities that have substantial benefit to the charity's beneficiaries.

As an example, their monies can be used for:
  • Equipment to support young people in the move across from homelessness to new accommodation such as toiletries, bedding, cooking utensils.
  • Provisions to engage the elderly in activities, exercise and experiences that help to improve mental and physical wellbeing (such as a large, digital interactive activity table for a care setting).
At the time of writing, The Foundation are currently updating their donations policy and are due to relaunch and the opening date for new applications will be announced early in 2025

For more information for application opening dates please check the Skipton Charitable Foundation website regularly.
