Introducing a New Carers Marketplace Event this November

This November, Medway Council’s Adult Social Care will be hosting an exciting Carers marketplace event, where those who provide care in the community can meet a range of Council services and get information, guidance and support to help them in their role as a Carer.

It is hoped that by directly linking Carers across Medway with our services, they will be able to raise any concerns they may have, get clarity around eligible support, and help them feel confident as a Carer.

Here’s the key details and how Carers can book their place today:

Event details:

  • Date: Tuesday 25 November
  • Time: 10:30am to 2:30pm (drop-in any time!)
  • Location: The old Wilkos shop, Ground floor of the Pentagon Shopping Centre (by the lifts), Chatham ME4 4HY

What services will I be able to speak with?

The following services will be providing stalls on the day:

  • Adult Social Care including;
  • Social work teams, financial assessments, and client financial affair
  • Direct payments, shared lives and transition from children to adults
  • Occupational therapy and respite services
  • Engagement team and many more...
  • Housing and Benefits
  • Adaptations
  • Adult Education and Public Health

A number of organisations from across Medway will also be attending including Carers First, Medway Voluntary Action, Kent Association for the Blind and Healthwatch.

Please note this will be a marketplace event, with no planned agenda for speakers. Attendees will be able to visit various stalls that interest them to speak with services.

In the future we hope to expand the marketplace event further to include even more organisations from across Medway.

Who’s the event suitable for?

The event is open to everyone who provides paid or unpaid care in Medway or supports someone who is a Carer.
