Introducing MVA's New Social Impact Gateway (SIG)

The project will launch initially as a pilot, and will be in collaboration with their partners at Social Enterprise Kent who are developing a similar model that will operate in East Kent.

For some time MVA have been party to conversations, particularly with statutory sector organisations such as the ICB, that indicate it is very difficult for them to know how to work more effectively with the VCSEF as there is no central mechanism through which conversations could take place to secure potential funding if it becomes available.

They are also mindful that other possible funding mechanisms such as those that can be channelled through social value routes have previously not been maximised for the sector. These are two potential sources of funding – there will be more.

MVA's aim therefore is to do what their mission dictates they should do – to support the VCSEF as effectively as possibly – by having these conversations that they hope will lead to income being obtained which can be distributed to organisations who are well placed to deliver; as the local infrastructure organisation, they'll also be helping any organisations who need to upskill to become more ‘contract ready’ for securing new funding coming through the SIG.

If you want to discuss the project further, please don’t hesitate to contact Jane Howard after the 10th or June or Clare Saunders before that on jane@mva.org.uk or clare@mva.org.uk
