Join us for our VCS Equality Diversity & Inclusion Focus + Health and Networking Event. As well as MVA'S AGM 2022

The event brings together Medway’s VCS to celebrate their successes and the amazing work of their volunteers over the last year. We will also collectively take a closer look at the role of equality, diversity, and inclusion within the sector. And hear more about the initiatives of Medway and Swale Health and Care Partnership and its substantial positive impact on the work of the VCS.

Keynote Speakers at this Event

Gurvinder Sandher, CEO of Kent Equality Cohesion Council

Gurvinder will tell us about the work he has been doing in Kent and Medway for over 20 years in bringing communities together to celebrate our shared values promoting community cohesion and understanding. He will be sharing his journey as the son of immigrants who was regularly racially abused as a child, to now supporting groups and individuals in the community who need help and support.

Nikki Teesdale, Director of delivery from Medway & Swale Health and Care Partnership.

Nikki will tell us about the valuable role of the VCS and the importance of the VCS Framework in helping to address local population needs. Nikki will also want to hear your views as this will shape this important agenda that will impact the lives of our communities going forward

The half-day event will also include much needed opportunities to network with your VCS peers, MVA's AGM and the Barry Clout Award 2022.

We will also be announcing the winner and runners up of the Barry Clout Award for Outstanding Contributions to Volunteering in Medway. The Award is presented annually at our AGM in memory of Barry Clout. The award is a chance to give recognition to someone who has given up their time, commitment, energy, and skills to help others in the community across the Medway Towns and say thank you.

The event is being held on Tuesday the 15th of November from 9am - 1pm at the St George's Hotel, 7-8 New Rd Ave, Chatham ME4 6BB
