Medway Culture Club Announces their 6th Annual Community Carnival

Medway Culture Club will host its sixth annual Community Carnival on Saturday 8 August at the Royal Engineers Museum, Gillingham, featuring free live entertainment, cultural activities and family fun.

Running from 12pm to 5pm, the event is expected to attract thousands of visitors, including The Worshipful Mayor of Medway, Councillor Douglas Hamandishe, and Medway Council Leader, Councillor Vince Maple.

Celebrating Medway’s diverse communities, the Carnival will feature a parade, live music, cultural performances, Caribbean sounds from Intention Studio, steel pan performances and workshops, cultural food, community stalls, children’s activities, face painting, games and a limbo competition.

Founded in 2020, Medway Culture Club is a multicultural charity that promotes cultural unity through events, workshops and education for children, young people and families. The charity, a recipient of the Medway Together Fund, has thanked Medway Council for its support.

The Carnival also supports Chatham’s bid to become the UK’s first Town of Culture, highlighting the area’s creativity, diversity and community spirit.
