Meet Medway Culture Club - Inspiring Change Through Cultural Unity
Medway Culture Club (MCC) is a grassroots, community-led charity that inspires change through cultural unity. Founded in 2020, MCC provides social enrichment and cultural education to children, families, and the wider Medway community. Its mission is to foster belonging, celebrate diversity, and build stronger community connections through inclusive, interactive experiences.
At its core, MCC creates opportunities for people to connect across cultures and generations. Monthly workshops for children aged 5–16 combine learning, play, and mentorship, ending with shared meals from local vendors that encourage conversation and cultural exchange. Community events such as the annual Medway Culture Club Carnival bring hundreds together to enjoy music, dance, food, and creative activities in a joyful, intergenerational celebration of heritage.
MCC also curates immersive cultural experiences, from Black History bus tours to Windrush exhibitions and Caribbean Christmas events, which highlight underrepresented stories while strengthening pride, identity, and mutual respect. These initiatives not only educate but also break down barriers, promoting racial harmony and social cohesion.
Through collaboration, creativity, and shared experiences, Medway Culture Club enriches lives, uplifts diverse voices, and ensures that every individual feels seen, valued, and connected within their community
