MVA's New James Williams Award for Pioneering Leadership

MVA are taking nominations now for their new James Williams Award for Pioneering Leadership. Recognising great leaders with charity awards is crucial for several reasons. It sets a positive example for others and inspires others to follow in their footsteps.

In the past the dedication and passion of charity and voluntary sector leaders in Medway has gone largely unnoticed. These individuals are the driving force behind vital programmes, support networks, and community initiatives, often working with limited resources and unwavering commitment.

MVA’s new highly anticipated leadership awards are a great way to showcase and recognise some remarkable leaders, who have made significant contributions to developing and growing the sector and ultimately making a difference in Medway and within the communities we all serve.

MVA’s first award is in memoriam of James Williams, Director of Public Health at Medway Council, who sadly passed in 2024. James was a leading local government public health expert and a key figure in Kent and Medway's response to COVID-19. He joined Medway Council in 2017 and under his leadership he has transformed the council's approach to public health delivery over the past seven years

The James Williams Award for Pioneering Leadership serves as a legacy and reminder of the power that vision and dedication to community can have in improving the lives of others. It's found in the individuals who quietly and consistently lead, innovate, create, transform, develop, grow, inspire, and motivate those around them.

The chances are, you know someone just like this, and MVA need you to tell us all about their impact through nominating them for one of their new 10 VCSEF sector leadership awards.
