New Year, New Start, Ongoing Support – Citizens Advice Medway Continue to Champion those in Need, January 2022

Citizens Advice Medway are continuing their commitment and assistance to the local residents and community through their services and various forms of support.

Citizens Advice Medway is a registered charity offering free, impartial advice 24/7 that is independent and confidential regardless of whatever clients are struggling to handle, whether it is housing, welfare benefits, employment, debt, family law, or some similar challenge – And their service remains fully operational for the start of this New Year.

Due to the pandemic and the restrictions this brings, much of their advice is being provided over telephone or via email, with face-to-face sessions available to the most vulnerable under strict COVID-secure guidelines.

They continue to have a fully operational Housing Team, funded by the Legal Aid Agency. The Team can offer casework support on a range of matters and can also attend various County Courts – from Tonbridge to Basildon - on days when tenants are called to attend repossession hearings.

Their Money Advice Team is also on hand for any debt cases that tend to be common after the Christmas break, their Help to Claim Team is also available to offers benefit calculations and support claiming Universal Credit; as people finish temporary Christmas jobs, or overspend on family these two projects are known to be busy at this time of year, but are available to help challenges such as increasing living costs or rising price of utilities.

The above services are backed by the charity’s General Advice Team - staff and volunteers that continue to support the people of Medway with employment, family, consumer, and other issues including debt, benefit – even unique housing matters.
