Relaunching Soon: Community Grants from The Greggs Foundation

The Greggs Foundation are offering grants for core funding to cover local charity running costs and similar expenses to grassroots and not-for-profit organisations in their local area.

Also known as the “Community Action Fund”, The Greggs Foundation Community Grants Programme provides core funding to charity, grassroots and not-for-profit organisations in the UK.

The programme offers grants to cover essential running costs, and can be used for everyday overheads like rent, utilities, and salaries.

The funders are interested in applications from projects that build stronger, healthier communities by:
  • Alleviating food poverty: Providing food hubs, community cafes, and direct nutritional support
  • Reducing social isolation: Creating networks and community hubs to connect lonely or marginalized individuals
  • Improving health and wellbeing: Encouraging active lifestyles and mental wellness programs, or
  • Building resilience: Offering training, education, and advice to improve local job prospects and financial security
The Foundation advises all registered charities can apply; and where these grants aim to support areas facing severe deprivation and locations close to Greggs Outlets, The Foundation does point out the programme can be highly competitive and that funding is restricted.

At the time of writing, whilst The Foundation can accept applications on a rolling basis, they are due to relaunch their official call for the Summer period and encourage interested parties to check back regularly for updates on each funding round for further details of this.

More information and how to apply can be found at the Greggs Foundation website.
