Spotlight on Loneliness and Social Isolation from Barnado’s, November 2022

National children’s charity Barnado’s have recently published more work which shines a light on loneliness and isolation facing care-experienced young people.

In May 2022, the UK charity for children and young people who have lived in care published a report which highlighted the lack of stability young people have in the care system.

The report also identified that because of this young people in the care system have an increased risk of loneliness and social isolation – but also provided solutions to prevent this.

Barnado’s also revisited their Project Acorn series, a collection of Podcasts that follows a group of young people who had all experienced care as they set up their own support group to tackle loneliness.
