The Launch of ‘Keep it Local for Better Health’ by Locality, Winter 2024

February 2024 sees national organisation Locality launch an event to share their findings so far to help improve health and wellbeing services in local communities, and invite all interested health system colleagues to join them.

The Keep it Local for Better Health event will present new guidance of their learnings of the past three years on the Government’s VCSE Health and Wellbeing Alliance.

The guidance also shows how these findings combine with 10 years of growing of Locality’s the Keep it Local campaign.

The event organisers advise the guidance shows how Integrated Care Services (ICSs) can be successful in unlocking the power of communities through the six Keep it Local principles.

At the launch event, attendees will discover:
  • How the Keep it Local approach can support the shift to prevention, tackle health inequalities, create social and economic development, and embed Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprises (VCSE) within health systems.
  • How the six Keep it Local principles can be adopted in practice by all tiers of ICSs.
  • How health systems and their local VCSE partners are already working in this way across the country.
They will also hear about other recent research and guidance on the Keep it Local for Better Health approach, including:
  • How local VCSE organisations can get ready for health system funding.
  • How local VCSE organisations create inclusive and culturally competent health services.
The launch will be held ONLINE on Thursday 15th February 2024, from 11:30am to 1:00pm, and ALL health system and other interested colleagues are welcome to attend.
