National Lottery funded Sport England are offering support for sports clubs and other organisations that help people to take part in physical activity.
The
Movement Fund is a
£160 Million four-year initiative launched by Sport England to simplify community funding and help more people in England get active.
It replaces previous programmes like the
Small Grants and The Active Together funds, offering grants and crowdfunding pledges for projects that tackle physical activity inequalities.
The fund is available to not-for-profit and charity organisations whose projects align with the
Uniting the Movement strategy, with Sport England particularly interested in
supporting those facing the greatest barriers to activity. This includes:
- People on low incomes.
- Disabled people or those with long-term health conditions.
- Culturally diverse communities.
- Older people and girls aged 5-16.
The monies can be used to
fund various projects such as new activity sessions, essential equipment, minor facility refurbishments, and building organisational capacity; it could even be used as direct grants or pledges towards a
Crowdfunder campaign.
To Apply, Sport England advise that interested parties use the
Sport England Suitability Checker to see if your project matches the fund's goals, and
if eligible, applications are submitted through the
Sport England Portal.
At the time of writing, there was no recognised deadline, suggesting this is a Continuous Rolling Programme and applications can be accepted at any time.
Further
information and how to apply can be found at the Sport England
website.
