Vacancy – Carer Support Adviser, Team Lead for Carers First, December 2021

Amongst the various services that local organisation Carers First provide to unpaid carers, they also offer many ways for these people to get the help they need, whether online, on the phone or in their community. They offer timely advice and work with carers to discover the best way forward, for them as individuals.

Carers First are looking for a Carer Support Adviser – Team Lead to join their team in Medway.

Based at their Medway office, and answering to their Service Manager, the role would involve providing day to day line management of Carer support advisors, work in co-production with Carers to make sure that all services are of the best standards, as well as build upon existing relationships with locality partners.

Carers First say the successful candidate will have experience of managing multiple channels of work. They would also be able to inspire, support and motivate staff, have a working knowledge of health and social care particularly in relation to adults and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Vacancy – Senior Contract Management Officer at Medway Council, December 2021

Applications are currently being taken for the vacancy of Senior Contract Management Officer at Medway Council.

Medway Council is a unitary authority in South-East of England, made up of the towns of Strood, Rochester, Chatham, Gillingham and Rainham and more rural areas, including the Hoo Peninsula, supplying all the local Government services to over a quarter of a million people who live work in the local area, including education, environment, social care, housing, planning and business.

Medway Council are looking for a Senior Contract Management Officer to join their expert team that commission a wide range of adult services, on behalf of Medway residents

Based at their Medway office, and responsible to the Commissioning Programme Lead, the role would involve making sure that all programme plans, activity data, and performance are regularly updated and maintained on the Programme Management System.

The Council says the successful applicant would need to make sure that all commissioning activity is carried out as described in legislation, national guidelines, Kent & Medway’s Clinical Commissioning Group and Medway Council’s policy and procedures, and that this activity is delivered using the principles of good practice including ethics and correctness, taking account of safeguarding policy and standards.

The Council advise this position would be a noble placement for someone who wants to contribute extensively to commissioned adult social care services across Medway, as they would gain knowledge and experience from highly skilled team members and would also have the chance to show their skills and abilities in contract management, project management and commissioning, whilst working in partnership with providers, other agencies, and strategic networks.
