The Literacy Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring that everyone who comes to Read Easy to improve their reading gets the support that they need to succeed. You will provide literacy support to the Coordinator and Reading Coaches and visit reading pairs to advise on specific situations and challenges that Readers and Coaches may be facing. You will need to have a background in teaching reading/literacy (preferably, but not necessarily, with adults).

The Coordinator is the first point of contact for those who want to learn to read. Using a simple assessment, the Coordinator will explain to a potential new ‘Reader’ how Read Easy may be able to help them. The Coordinator pairs up new Coaches with those who want to learn to read and provides ongoing support to these reading pairs. They visit reading sessions occasionally and maintain support through regular calls with both Reader and Coach to check all is going well.

Medway Culture Club is a voluntary organisation, providing monthly cultural events and experiences for children of Medway aged 5-16. If you’re an organised individual, then your administration skills will be vital. By taking minutes at our online meetings, keeping records up to date and managing internal and external communications, a Medway Culture Club secretary will ensure that the group functions at its best.

Medway Culture Club is a voluntary organisation, providing monthly cultural events and experiences for children of Medway aged 5-16. The cultural events are aimed at bringing the diverse child population of Medway together, to learn from each other and create community cohesion. This fundraising role mainly involves searching for opportunities, completing and submitting funding application forms on behalf of this community organisation.

If you have a sound understanding of figures and statistics, then volunteering as a Treasurer at Medway Culture Club is the perfect opportunity for you to get involved with a really worthy cause. Our Treasurer must ensure the accurate management and recording of the group’s income and expenditure and work closely with the Management Team to explain what the group needs to raise to support its activities for the year.
